Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about converting SVGs to 3D.
How does SVG to 3D conversion work?
The tool reads the paths and shapes in your SVG, then extrudes them into the third dimension — essentially giving a flat vector graphic depth. You control how thick the extrusion is, add beveled edges for a polished look, and apply materials like metal, plastic, or glass. The result is a real 3D model you can orbit around in the preview.
What kind of SVGs work best?
Simple, bold shapes with clear outlines give the best results — logos, icons, text, and geometric designs. Very detailed illustrations with thin lines or gradients can still work, but the 3D effect is most striking with solid, well-defined forms.
What's a GLB file?
GLB is a compact binary format for 3D models. It's widely supported by 3D viewers, game engines, AR/VR platforms, and tools like Blender. If you just need a quick image, you can also export a PNG snapshot (with a transparent background) or a JPG with the scene background included.
Can I control the lighting and environment?
Yes. You can choose from several environment maps (city, office, forest, studio, sunset) that affect how reflections and lighting look on the model. You can also set a solid or gradient background, and adjust the environment intensity to get the exact mood you're after.
Does anything get uploaded to a server?
No. The entire conversion, rendering, and export process happens in your browser using Three.js. Your SVG file stays on your device from start to finish.
