What is an envelope dieline?
An envelope dieline is the flat "blank" that is die-cut and creased from a single sheet, then folded and glued into an envelope. The central rectangle is the finished envelope face; the four flaps around it (seal, bottom and two sides) fold in along the crease lines to form the pocket and the closing flap.
Which seal flap style should I pick?
Square (euro) is the modern invitation look. Pointed is the classic announcement/greeting-card flap. Round gives a soft, elegant curve. Straight (wallet) is the wide, shallow flap used on commercial (#10) and banker envelopes. All four keep their own named cut & crease layers.
What are the finished size and the flat blank size?
The finished size is the closed envelope (for example A7 is 5.25 × 7.25 in). The flat blank is the whole unfolded sheet including all flaps — it is always larger. Pick your card size first: the envelope should be about 0.25 in / 6 mm larger than the card so it slips in easily. The tool shows the flat blank size for you.
Where does the glue go?
Fold the two side flaps in first, then the bottom flap up over them — the highlighted glue seams show where adhesive bonds the bottom flap to the sides to form the pocket. The seal flap stays open; add remoistenable gum or a sticker to close it. Toggle "Show glue seams" to include or hide these areas.
Will it print and cut at the correct real-world size?
Yes. The SVG exports with real physical dimensions (inches or millimeters) and a matching coordinate system, so it opens at 1:1 scale in Illustrator, Inkscape, Affinity, Silhouette Studio, Cricut Design Space and print RIPs. Put your artwork on its own layer and align it to the dieline.
