What is a hang tab?
A hang tab is the small tab with a hole or euro slot that lets a box or product hang on a retail peg hook, slatwall or pegboard. It is either die-cut into the top of the packaging or added as a separate tab that folds over and glues to the box.
What is a euro slot?
A euro slot (also called a euro hole or "sombrero" slot) is the standard European retail hanging cutout — a wide, shallow slot with a rounded hole dipping below its center, so it looks like a hat. The peg sits in the rounded part while the wide slot lets the packaging hang flat against the display. A round hole and a simple slot are the other common options.
What is the glue base for?
The glue base is the lower panel below the green crease. It folds along the crease and is glued or taped to the top of your box or product, so the tab stands up with the hole clear above the packaging. Turn it off if you are die-cutting the tab directly into an existing panel.
What size should the hole and slot be?
A euro slot is typically about 32 mm (1.25 in) wide with a 6–7 mm (0.25–0.28 in) round hole. Keep the hole center roughly 10 mm (0.4 in) from the top edge, with enough material above and around it so it does not tear under weight. Heavier products need a larger hole and more clearance.
Will it print and cut at the correct real-world size?
Yes. The SVG exports with real physical dimensions (inches or millimeters) and a matching coordinate system, so it opens at 1:1 scale in Illustrator, Inkscape, Affinity, Silhouette Studio, Cricut Design Space and print RIPs. Put your artwork on its own layer and align it to the cut line.
